
Bridging Divides Graduate Student Stipend offers financial aid to domestic and international students pursuing their studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada. The scholarship is limited and available for full-time Master’s and PhD research programs in any of BD’s four key research themes outlined below:
- Health and Well-Being
- Employment and Lifelong Learning
- Place and Infrastructure
- Citizenship and Participation.
Toronto Metropolitan University, also known as TMU, is a private university located in Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 1948 as Ryerson Institute of Technology and renamed Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
You’re eligible if you are;
- A domestic or international applicant
- A student of TMU
- Focusing on one of Bridging Divides research themes.
Benefits of Scholarship

Toronto Metropolitan Bridging Divides Stipend provides master’s candidates with stipend worth between $20,000 and $30,000 per year. The scheme is valid for a maximum of two years for incoming students. PhD candidates will receive between $30,000 to $40,000 for a maximum of four years. The scholarship renewal is determined by the availability of funds and the student’s progress.
